Miller Park in Chattanooga, TN


Nestled atop a hill in the heart of Chattanooga, Tennessee, stands Miller Park. A popular destination for residents, visitors, and tourists alike, the park offers a variety of recreational activities, outdoor entertainment, and scenic views year-round. Located at 1600 East 3rd Street, Miller Park is a 33.9-acre park and is the city’s largest park. It is one of nine public city parks in Chattanooga and includes an amphitheater, gardens, playgrounds, a carousel, running trails, and plenty of pavilions and seating areas. The park was established in 1917 as a memorial to Bob Miller and is located in the historic Glenwood district. The park also includes the Coolidge-Lamont Fountain, which is a granite memorial to World War I veterans and was built in 1925, as well as a bell tower dedicated to the Korean War veterans in 1954. Miller Park is home to the Chattanooga Zoo, which houses more than 20 species of animals. The zoo features a petting zoo, reptile house, and aviary and offers a variety of educational activities, such as interpreter-led tours and animal-themed scavenger hunts. The park is also home to the Tennessee Aquarium and IMAX complex, which is the largest freshwater aquarium in the world and features dozens of species, including sharks, turtles, jellyfish, and otters. Visitors can take boat tours, interactive classes, and even spend the night in the underwater tunnel.
